Garbanzo bean growing info:
Garbanzo beans need about three months of cool, frost free weather. In the tropics they may be grown during the winter, while they may be a spring or summer crop in more northern climates. Garbanzos are indeterminate, so they will continue to grow and flower until frost. Direct sow about an inch deep, and 3-6 inches apart. Space rows 18-24 inches. Like other legumes they will pull nitrogen from the air so try and avoid high nitrogen fertilizers. Harvest fresh while the pods are still green, or wait till they dry and turn brown to harvest for dry beans.
