Brussels sprouts grow quite similar to broccoli and other cole crops. They can be grown in zones 2-9 and prefer cool weather. They can be direct sown however starting them in flats or containers and transplanting them out is preferred. Once established light frost is no problem. Brussels sprouts need a long growing season, varieties tend to take 90-110 days to be ready for harvest. Be sure to plan accordingly for your particular climate. Keep an eye on them and when the sprouts on the stalk look ready just twist or cut them off.
