Fennel growing info:
Fennel is an easy to grow alternative to anise for those who love licorice. It grows best in full sun. Keep the soil consistently moist and start with rich well draining soil. Plant seeds directly for best results, 1/2-1 inch deep. You can harvest the greens but be careful to never harvest more than 1/3 of them so the plant can continue to develop the bulb. When the bulb reaches 4 inches across (depending on variety), harvest the whole thing. Or allow to go to seed to produce seeds if you want. Its a warm loving frost intolerant plant so wait to plant outside until after any threat of frost passes. It can be a Perennial in zones 6-10.
